If you have never tried rowing before and would like to Learn to Row or you need to get back to the basics in a boat, after a long time away, we offer Beginner sessions at the club every Monday evening.

The sessions are run from 6:30pm to 8pm and they are structured to take you through the basics of the rowing stroke on rowing machines in the gym, to being competent on the water in a variety of boats.

During the summer, except for the first week, all sessions are spent on the river, where the emphasis is on boat skills. Then as the available evening light fades at the end of the summer the sessions continue in the gym over the winter, where the focus is on technique and fitness.

There are no charges for the initial session of the Learn to Row Course. We simply ask you to complete a membership form after the first week and then set up a standing order at the start of the next month for your membership (currently £24 / month).

Once you have a membership you will be able to access the gym and other training sessions as your skills improve.

So, whatever the time of year you can Learn to Row at St Ives. Just complete the form below and we will be in contact to arrange your first session
